Retro Photoshop Text Effects

In this text effect pack for Photoshop you will find 12 unique mockups to easily create your own text with a retro look & feel. All of the effects are applied automatically and all you have to do is replace the text of the Smart Object with your own. 

Each text mockup features a sample text design which is fully editable and can be updated with your content. You can then adjust the text, background image and background colors to suit your needs. Although you can use any font you wish, the fonts used on this resource are free to download and can be found at LostType in the following links: Abraham Lincoln and Bender.

How to use

Updating the Main Text

1. Open any of the 12 provided template files in Photoshop.
2. Double click on the thumbnail of the first Smart Object layer named 'Your Text'.
3. Replace the placeholder content with your own content.
4. Save and close the Smart Object.

Changing the Main Text Color

1. Expand the 'Main Text Effects' layer group in the Layers Panel.
2. Double click on the 'Text Color' layer thumbnail.
3. Pick any color from the Color Picker window and click OK.

Updating the Background Image

1. Expand the 'Background' layer group in the Layers Panel.
2. Double click on the thumbnail of the Smart Object layer named 'BG Image'.
3. Replace the placeholder content with your own content.
4. Save and close the Smart Object.

Changing the Background ImageColor

1. Expand the 'Background' layer group in the Layers Panel.
2. Double click on the 'BG Image Color' layer thumbnail.
3. Pick any color from the Color Picker window and click OK.

Changing the Background Color

1. Expand the 'Background' layer group in the Layers Panel.
2. Double click on the 'BG Color' layer thumbnail.
3. Pick any color from the Color Picker window and click OK.
